SJSU SENIOR PROJECT

-Purpose, Brand Identity, Web Appearance-

During my senior year of college I was teamed up with four other colleagues in my class to create a fictional non-profit organization that engages in the field of empowering consumers to create an eco-friendly fashion industry.

Challenge

Throughout our design courses at San Jose State University all of our projects were done individually. Our first challenge that we faced was working as a collective to agree on the initial direction of our project. There were certain roles that we had to fulfill individually in order for our brand to move forward. The challenge and role that I took on was designing a web page for our brand.

Goals

Our goal for this project was to create a non-profit organization that engages in these fields of water:

  • Water literacy (education)

  • Water & social Justice / Gender equality

  • Water & Culture / Appreciation / Art / Imagination

  • Water & Ecology / Biodiversity / environment / climate change

Brand & intention

Name: Fantasma ( means splash in hausa and phantom in spanish) “No hidden cost”

Organization’s Intention: How can Fantasma empower sustainable choices within urban consumers to create an eco-responsible fashion Industry?

Final designs & alternate logos

After numerous design explorations and going back to back with my client. I ended up with a simple monogram that incorporates movement by italicizing the font, giving it a directional pull just as a car would when in motion. I retained BMW’s performance stripes to symbolize that Performance Dynamic is a shop dedicated to BMW’s and drop a shadow to add depth to the logo.
